OLADIPO SEEKS RENEWED STAFF SUPPORT…..as he marks six months in office

The Vice-Chancellor, Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Prof. Samuel Oladipo, MNPA, CMCPN, MCAN, FIELPN, has called for sustained cooperation, commitment and prayers from members of staff and students as he marked his first six months in office with a thanksgiving and prayer session, reaffirming his administration’s resolve to advance the University’s development in line with the STARWIN Agenda.

Speaking at the gathering, Prof. Oladipo expressed gratitude to God for His grace and guidance, while appreciating staff and students for their cooperation and support since his assumption of office.

He described the six-month milestone as the beginning of a greater journey, noting that much more remained to be done to reposition the University and take it to greater heights.

He called for stronger support and prayers from the University Community while emphasising that the task of building a greater TASFUED required collective commitment and a shared sense of responsibility. He further assured stakeholders that his administration remained determined to fulfil its promises and meet their expectations.

While speaking on infrastructural development, the Vice-Chancellor revealed that several projects were in the pipeline and would begin to take shape in phases, explaining that some of the delays were attributable to Government bureaucratic processes.

Among the proposed interventions are the renovation of existing buildings and classrooms, installation of smart boards in classrooms, development of a standard sports centre and provision of solar-powered streetlights across the Campuses.

Prof Oladipo urged members of staff to embrace a renewed commitment to the University’s progress.

Drawing from the biblical admonition, he encouraged them not to dwell on former things but to work zealously towards a fresh beginning.

He stressed the need for punctuality, tenacity and professionalism, warning against conduct capable of undermining institutional growth.

He also reiterated that the use of identification cards by staff and students was compulsory, just as compliance with stop-and-search procedures at the University gate and responsible driving within the campus were non-negotiable.

Reaffirming his administration’s open-door policy, which he said had remained in place since he assumed office, the Vice-Chancellor encouraged staff and other stakeholders to freely share constructive ideas, suggestions and contributions that could advance the University’s interests.

“At TASFUED, we are all about promoting excellence, so if you have ideas, suggestions or contributions that can move the institution forward, please don’t hesitate. Don’t forget that united we stand, and divided we fall,” he added.

On information management and institutional unity, the Vice-Chancellor cautioned staff against spreading rumours, false information and unverified reports, noting that such practices could erode trust and undermine the University’s collective

He equally assured Directors and Heads of Units of the University’s commitment to provide for their welfare, describing them as representatives of the institution whose conduct and disposition should reflect its values, standards and aspirations. While assuring them that all things needed to make their jobs easier would soon be provided.

Prof. Oladipo reiterated his administration’s commitment to student’s welfare. He urged them to sustain the peaceful atmosphere for which TASFUED had been known, stressing that maintaining harmony and order on campus was a shared responsibility that must not be compromised.

The thanksgiving and prayer session, anchored by both the Christian and Muslim communities, was well attended by members of the TASFUED Community.

It provided an opportunity for reflection, gratitude and renewed commitment to the collective pursuit of institutional growth and excellence under the STARWIN Agenda.
