Prof. Oluwole Sikiru Banjo was born into the family of Alhaji Ayoola Banjo of Oru-Ijebu, Ogun State.
He attended Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode after which he bagged a Bachelor of Agriculture (Animal Production) at the Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State in 1987. He also obtained a Master of Science in (Animal Science) in 1989, Master of Personnel Psychology in 1999 and Doctor of Philosophy in Wildlife and Ecotourism Management in 2004, all from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State. He also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye in 2004 and a Master Degree in Wildlife and Ecotourism Management from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan in 2014.
Prof. Banjo began his career as an academia in 1990, as Lecturer II at the former Tai Solarin College of Education and continued as a Lecturer when the then College of Education was transformed to a University in 2005. He rose progressively in his career as a distinguished academia and was promoted to the rank of Professor in the year 2012.
Prof. Banjo who is the 5th substantive and 2nd indigenous Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education has held numerous administrative responsibilities as a staff of the former Tai Solarin College of Education and also in the University. Some of these numerous responsibilities include: Acting Vice Chancellor (November 2020 to 2022), Deputy Vice-Chancellor, 2018 -2020 (October), Dean College of Vocational and Technology Education 2016-2018, Dean, College of Science and Information Technology 2014-2016, Ag. Head, Department of Agricultural Production and Management 2011-2013 and members of various Boards and Committees such as:

He is an External Examiner to various institutions in and outside Nigeria. He is a Consulting Editor for several institutional journals such as National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), JIMMA University Ethiopia, Pan African University, Benin. He has over sixty publications in learned journals, chapters in books, published books and conference proceedings. He has also attended more than twenty conferences and seminars both internationally and locally. He had supervised several Postgraduate and undergraduate projects and has served as External Assessor in numbers of institutions.
Prof. Banjo is a specialist in Wildlife, Resource Conservation and Ecotourism Management.
Prof. Oluwole Banjo is a fellow of many professional bodies such as Wildlife Society of Nigeria (FWISON), Agricultural Society of Nigeria (FASN), Association of Applied Information Management Professionals (FAIMP), and Distinguish Fellow of Institute of Security Nigeria (DFISN).
He is happily married with Children.
