TASUED INAUGURATES 13TH STUDENTS' UNION

The Ag. Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wole Banjo has assured newly inaugurated members of the 13th Students’ Union of continuous leadership training for its members as this would enhance leadership qualities in elected representatives and as well prepare them for higher positions in the nearest future.

He gave this submission at the inauguration of the new officers of the Students’ Union held at the TETFUND 2012 Hall of the University recently.

The Vice Chancellor commended the electoral body for conducting a hitch-free election.

He, however advised the new leaders of the Students’ Union to engage the option of dialogue rather than resorting to frivolous agitation.

Prof. Banjo noted that violence would always mar the peace and smooth academic calendar being enjoyed in the University. “Our door is always open to you. Feel free to walk up to us anytime you want clarifications”, he added.

While accepting the baton of leadership, the new Students ‘Union President, Comrade Rabiu Sodiq thanked his colleagues for their support and encouragement and assured them that he will not let them down.

He further reiterated his earlier promise to fellow students that his administration would be responsive, committed and accountable.

Furthermore, the new student leader promised to be a partner in progress and work hand-in-hand with the University Management towards championing the cause of the Institution by placing it on higher pedestal and with a plea to Staff Unions on Campus to lend their support to the 13th Students’ Union.

The Oath of office was later administered by Barrister Bola Balogun, a Legal Officer at the University’s Legal Services Department.
