OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT SET FOR INNOVATION IN EDUCATION SECTOR

The Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, has reiterated the resolve of the Ogun State Government, to reposition Education in the State through the inclusion of Information and Computer  Technology in teaching and delivery of content to Students.

Prof. Arigbabu made the statement at A-Two Day Workshop organised for Teachers of Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu Ode by the Centre for improved Teaching and Learning, (CITEL),  TASUED.

The training facilitated by the Old Students Association, 1976 set of the College with the theme: ” Practical Approach to Excellent Teaching and Learning “, is to commemorate its 46th Anniversary.

The Commissioner further disclosed that the Ogun State Government under the able leadership of the Executive Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, place Education on the front burner, with the massive turn-around of infrastructure, the introduction of a centralised and digital Scheme of work for all Schools.

He congratulated the School for being among the 42 flagship Schools recently classified by the Ogun State Government.
Prof. Arigbabu further commended the Old Students Association for partnering with the Government in moving Education to its desired position.

In a related development, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Tai Solarin University of Education, Prof. Wole Banjo in his keynote address delivered at the event stated that workshops are important for teachers to update their knowledge in an ever-changing world.

“I, therefore, consider it imperative to charge the Centre with this assignment aimed at bringing about a paradigm shift in the teaching and learning process in my Alma Mater”, the Acting Vice-Chancellor added.

He further added that “the workshop has the prospect of enhancing the capacities of our dear teachers, such that Ijebu Muslim College as a Pacesetter in academic excellence, will be reinvigorated through this training, to reclaim what the School was known for in the days gone by”.

Others present at the event are the National President, IMCOSA, Engineer Kayode Shote,  The Principal, Senior School; Mrs I.O. Adeniran-Idris, Members of 1976 Set and Teachers of both Senior and Junior Schools among others.
