AIRTEL CEO, SEGUN OGUNSANYA DELIVERS TASUED 12TH CONVOCATION LECTURE

As the University celebrates its 15th +1 anniversary and 12th Convocation Ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer Airtel, Mr Segun Ogunsanya would deliver the Convocation Lecture.

The Lecture, with the theme “Information And Communication Technology In The New World Normal: Envisioning Teacher Education In 2030” is scheduled to take place on Sunday 28th November, 2021 by 10.00am.

Mr. Segun Ogunsanya is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, a subsidiary of the Indian telecommunications conglomerate, with subsidiaries in 14 Sub-Saharan African countries.

He was born in 1966 in Ogun State, Nigeria and had his first Degree from the University of Ife now, Obafemi Awolowo University where he bagged his Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 1987.

Mr Ogunsanya is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, (ICAN).

In April 2021, Ogunsanya was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Africa, the African subsidiary that includes all the 14 sub-Saharan African markets.

He had earlier served as the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Coca-Cola Ghana and later as the Chief Executive Officer of Coca-Cola Sabco, Kenya, in 2010. He was also at one time the Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking Operations of Ecobank Transnational Inc. from 2008 to 2009.

He was also the Managing Director at Nigerian Bottling Company Plc from September 2011 to December 2012. He was appointed CEO of the Nigerian operation of Bharti Airtel, on 26 November 2012.

Mr Segun Ogunsanya foray into the Public Sector has earned him a place in the International Community of young professionals who have contributed immensely to Human Development.
