GOVERNING COUNCIL

There is hereby established for the University a Council to be known as the Council of Tai Solarin University of Education, the constitution and procedure of which shall, subject to the provisions of this Law, be in accordance with such provisions as may be made by Statute in that behalf.

The Council shall be the governing authority of the University and shall have the custody, control and disposition of all the property and finances of the University and, except as may otherwise be provided in this Law, shall manage and superintend generally the affairs of the University and, in any matter concerning the University not provided for by or under this Law the Council may act in such manners as may appear to it to best calculated to promote the interests, objects and purposes of the University.

 
MEMBERS OF GOVERNING COUNCIL

Members of the new Governing Council are,

Prof. Rahmon Adisa Bello, Pro-Chancellor & Chairman

Prof. Rahmon was born on October 1948 in Ogun State, southwestern Nigeria. He was educated at Egbado College in Ilaro, a town in Ogun State. He proceeded to the Polytechnic of Ibadan, where he received an OND in Mechanical Engineering. In 1974, he obtained a Bachelor of science (B.sc) degree in Chemical Engineering with a first class from the Obafemi Awolowo University. He holds a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and Doctorate degree (Ph. D) from the same University
A global citizen with administrative and project management acumen, he served as a commissioner in Ogun between 1994 and 1996 and later worked with the United Nations overseeing a project under UNDP/ILO in 16 states.
He was appointed as the acting vice chancellor of the University of Lagos in May 2012 following the sudden death of the then incumbent vice chancellor, professor Babatunde Adetokunbo Sofoluwe, who died of heart attack in 2012. In November 2012, Rahmon was confirmed as the vice chancellor of the university, a position he held till November 2017.
He is a fellow of several professional bodies like the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers and a COREN registered engineer.

Prof. Oluwole Banjo, Vice Chancellor

Prof Banjo has M.Sc in Wildlife Ecotourism and Masters Degree in Personnel Psychology. He has a Ph.D in Wild Life and Ecotourism Management from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

He was until his appointment, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, he also served as the Dean College of Vocational and Technology Education, (COVTED). He served in several capacities in the University which include Dean, College of Science and Information Technology, (COSIT). Prof. Banjo is a member of several committees, such as Postgraduate Committee, Development Committee, University Senate among others.

He is also a recipient of several awards and laurels.

He belongs to many professional Associations which include Beekeeping Association of Nigeria (BAN), Nigerian Society of Animal Production, Grasscutter Production and Management Science of Nigeria, Ecotourism Society of Nigeria and Resource Personnel (ASSN), Centre for Bee Research and Development among others.

Prof. Taiwo Osipitan (SAN), Member

Professor Taiwo Adetayo Ibitola Osipitan is Distinguished Professor of Law and erudite Senior Advocate of Nigeria who has excellently and successfully combined lecturing with active legal practice and has carved a niche for himself on both sides of the divide.
He was Born to Chief Bayo Osipitan and late Mrs. Modupe Olayinka Osipitan. Professor Osipitan has a twin sister Prof. (Mrs.) Kehinde Olayinka a Professor of Analytical/Environmental Chemistry at University of Lagos.
He started his formal education at Olivet Baptist High School Oyo, in Oyo State and later enrolled for a 2 year A-level Programme after his GCE. He obtained his Bachelors of Law and Letters (LL.B. (Hons)) between 1977 to 1980 from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State and attended the Nigerian Law School in 1981, where he distinguished himself by winning the Justice Somolu Memorial Prize for the best Student in Civil Procedure.  He obtained a Masters of Law degree, with Distinction from the London School of Economics & Political Science, London, England in 1982 and became a Professor of Public Law in October 1998 at the University of Lagos Akoka Lagos Nigeria. In 2002, he was conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
Professor Osipitan started his early career in lecturing in 1983 when he was appointed Lecturer II at the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos and has remained a lecturer in the institution for over 34 years rising to the status of a Distinguished Professor. He was at various times a Part-time Lecturer at the Lagos State University, Ojo, where he taught Insurance Law and Law of Evidence as well as at the Faculty of Law, Ogun State University, where he lectured in Law of Evidence.
As a legal practitioner in active legal practice, Professor Osipitan heads the law firm of Bayo Osipitan & Co, with office in Lagos State. A seasoned litigator with special interest in Commercial and Civil Litigation, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Arbitration, Mediation and Negotiation, he has successfully handled several high profile cases from the High Court to the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Professor Osipitan was the Special Adviser on Legal and Constitutional Matters to the Chief of General Staff and Vice Chairman of the Provisional Ruling Council of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from July 1988 up till May 1999. He  is the Chairman of UNILAG Consult Management Board (UCMB). He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of Nigeria.
His inaugural Lecture delivered in 2004 on the topic ‘An Autochthonous Constitution for Nigeria; Myth or Reality’ remains a leading authority in decided precedents in constitution making in Nigeria. As a renowned Scholar Professor Osipitan has written several articles and papers which have been published in various books and (law) journals. He has more than 50 scholarly publications to his credit.
Professor Osipitan is happily married with children.

Iyalode Alaba Lawson, Member

Alaba Lawson, a business magnate, entrepreneur and academician was born on January 18, 1951 in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, she completed her primary and secondary school education at St. James’ African Primary School, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta between 1957 and 1962 and Abeokuta Girls Grammar School, Abeokuta and left in 1968 before she proceeded to St. Nicholas Montessori Teachers’ Training College at Prince’s Gate, England in 1973 where she obtained a 1st Class Diploma in Education.
She started her teaching career in 1969 at Children House School, Ibara and while at England, she taught at Queen’s Gate Montessori Nursery School and Mill Hill Nursery and Junior School before she later came back to Nigeria in 1977 to establish her own school called Lawson’s Childcare Nursery and Primary School where she started with just three students and has now grown to be Lawson Group of Schools.
She later established a trading/distributing firm known as Capricorn Stores Ltd, between 1968- 1996 where she had distributing outlets with Nigerian Breweries Ltd, Nigerian Bottling Company Ltd, Guinness Nigeria Ltd, West African Portland Cement Ltd etc.. She became the President of the Abeokuta Chambers of Commerce in 1995 and later became the President of Ogun Council of Chambers of Commerce in year 2000 and headed it till 2002.
Iyalode Lawson is the Chairman of ABESTONE MICROFINANCE BANK, which has helped significantly to boost SME’s access to working capital. She has demonstrated herself as a beacon of hope, educationist, philanthropist, industrialist, community leader, opinion leader and a tower of strength for womanhood. In February 2017, in recognition of her enthusiasm and mobilization of the women entrepreneurs, Iyalode Alaba Lawson was decorated as an Ambassador of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal. A mobilizer of the informal trade sector, she encourages them to form trade associations and be affiliated with the chamber of commerce and form cooperatives to enhance access to finance.
Iyalode Alaba became the first woman to be elected President of National Association Of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines And Agriculture (NACCIMA) in May 25, 2017 following the expiration of the tenure of Dr. Benny Edem.

In recognition of her contributions to the growth of the organized private sector, and her extensive milestones in the growth of quality education in Nigeria, the State of Georgia, in the United States of America, conferred its honorary citizenship on Iyalode Alaba Lawson in November 2017.

Prof. Adewale Roland Solarin, Member

Prof. Adewale was born on 5th April, 1954 in Sagamu, Ogun State southwestern Nigeria. He had his Secondary school education in Mayflower School, Ikenne between 1966 and 1970. In 1975, he obtained a Bachelor of science (B.sc) degree in Mathematics from the then University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University, Masters degree in Mathematics and Ph. D University in 1978 and 1987 respectively from same University.
Adewale R. T. SOLARIN was appointed Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematical Sciences of University of Agriculture Abeokuta on 1st September, 1997 and delivered the 9th Inaugural Lecture of the University titled: TOTAL QUALITY A MATHEMATICAL PANCEA FOR NATIONAL PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVEMENT.
He served the University in various positions such as the Head Department of Mathematical Science from September 1997 to February 2000, Director of Academic Planning, Vice-Chancellor’s office on 1st March 2000, elected into the Governing Council of the university in August 2000 from the Senate and Deputy Vice Chancellor from December, 2006 to December, 2028.
Solarin, with background in Statistics and a Ph. D. in Mathematics, has for 36 years taught various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science. He has supervised student theses (B. Sc., M. Sc., Ph. D., PGD, MBA, and MBF) in topics in Mathematics, Statistics, Quality Control, Computer Science, and Business Management.
He was one of the prime movers of the inauguration of the Quality Control Society of Nigeria (QCSON) in 1990. Consequently, he became the foundation National President of the Society in 1990, a position he held till December 1994. He is a Quality and Productivity Improvement Consultant in TQM Implementations in many companies in Nigeria, including Bordpak Premier Packaging (BPP), a division of UACN Plc, which is ranked the biggest private conglomerate in Africa. The success of the BPP programme has encouraged UACN Plc to accept TQM as the management philosophy to be entrenched throughout the organisation.

Adewale, has benefited from international fellowships like, Italian Foreign Affairs Fellowships (1980, 1981, 1983); International mathematical Union (IMU) – ICM-90 Scholar, Kyoto, Japan; Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) – German Academic Exchange Award – for Senior Academics – 1996.
In 1993, he received a letter of commendation from the Head of State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for drawing a programme for achieving National Excellence using TQM principles and philosophy.
Prof. Adewale Solarin served as Dean & Professor at National Mathematical Centre, Abuja between August, 2008 and March, 2013 and as Director.

Senator Gbolahan Dada, Member

Senator  Joseph Gbolahan Dada was born on January 01, 1950. He is an indigene of Ogun State and senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District.
He completed his primary education at St. Peters Catholic School in 1962. He then moved to the UK where he attended Aberdeen College of Commerce and graduated with a Diploma in Commerce in 1972 after which he proceeded to Robert Gordon University Aberdeen, United Kingdom where he obtained an Advanced Diploma in Commerce in 1975.
Before venturing into mainstream politics, Joseph Dada held several roles in the Banking and Financial sector such as Director at Savannah Bank Nigeria Plc from 1993 to 1994 as well as Afri Bank Nigeria Plc from 1994 to 2000.
He was also the Director Joe-Han Network Market from 1985 to 2015.
In the 2015 elections, Dada contested for the seat of the Ogun West Senatorial District on the Platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and was successful.
Dada’s Legislative Interests including Banking Solutions & Finance Business Management, Financial Technology. 

Mr. Demola Adesanya, Member

Present Position: Deputy Registrar in the Admissions Division, Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Ademola Olorunwa Adesanya is a Deputy Registrar and Head, Admissions Division of Tai Solarin University of Education in Nigeria. He bagged his Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A Hons) in History from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, Nigeria and Masters’ degree in International Relations and Strategic (M.I.R.S.S) from Lagos State University. He also possess a Bachelor of Law degree (LL.B) from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
He joined the then Tai Solarin College of Education (now Tai Solarin University of Education), Ijagun as Administrative Officer on 25th June, 1998 and was posted to the Establishments Office. As Assistant Registrar II in October, 2001, he was posted to the Registrar’s Office to serve as the Special Assistant to the Registrar. Thereafter, in May,  2005 as Assistant Registrar I, he was redeployed to the Admissions Office as the Admissions Officer (Degree Admissions Office) where he rose to become a Principal Assistant Registrar. In March, 2011, he was posted to the Centre for Part-Time and External Programmes (CEPEP) as the Centre Secretary. He became a Deputy Registrar in 2013.He also had a brief stint at the Senate Affairs Office from March to November,  2016 as the Deputy Registrar (Senate Affairs). He worked at the School of Postgraduate Studies as the Deputy Registrar/Secretary from November, 2016 to September,  2018 from where he was posted to his current office as the Deputy Registrar/Admissions Officer,  Admissions Division.

He was a recipient of several awards among which are : (1) Merit Award, Historical Society of Nigeria, University of Lagos Branch (1993).(2) Award of Excellence,  Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities,  TASUED Branch (2005). (3) Award of meritorious service to the University and display of integrity  (Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State (2005). (4) Merit Award, Tai Solarin University of Education Staff Cooperative as Secretary of the Society between 2004 and 2008 (14th November, 2009).
He was also commended by the Governing Council,  Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun in October, 2005.
He is a member, Nigerian Institute of Management (Charted), Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) among other professional associations.
He had also held several positions among which are: Branch Chairman,Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities(SSANU) TASUED Branch (2008 – 2014). President,TASUED Staff Cooperative and Multipurpose Society(2008- 2015). Chairman, TASUESS Parent /Teacher Association(2013 – 2020).
Hobbies: Keeping fit, Music, Reading novel and autobiography of great men and watching television programmes.

Prof. Folashade Sulaiman, Member

Folasade Rasidat Sulaiman is a Nigerian born Professorof Teacher Education (Pedagogy) and Childhood Education who is currently a full academic staff of Tai Solarin University of Education in Nigeria. She baggedher B.Ed. in Teacher Education (English/Religious Studies) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; her professional Masters’ degree (Career & Personnel Psychology) from Ogun State University of Education, Ago Iwoye, Nigeria; her academic Masters’ degree in Childhood Education; and PhD in History and Policy of Education with bias in Childhood Education.
She served as a classroom teacher from 1987 to 1994. she joined Ogun State College of Education in 1994 to 2004; crossed to Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye in 2004; and later transferred her service to Tai Solarin University of Education in 2006 where she serves to date.She has reviewed and designed curricula for all levels of education in her areas of specialization.

She has served as the Head of Department of: (1) Educational foundations and Instructional Technology (TASUED, 2006-2011); (2) Childhood Education (2019-2020); (3) Early Childhood and Primary Education (KWASU, 2012-2013). She is the current Dean of the College of Specialised and Professional Education (TASUED, 2021 to date).

Her research interests areChildhood Education policy Formulation, Implementation and assessment Teacher Education (Pedagogy) & Childhood Education.

She has about 60 academic publications in journals (both national and international), chapters in books, textbooks and books. She belongs to many Professional bodies, some of which are: National Association for the Education of the Young Children (NAEYC), and Early Childhood Association of Nigeria (ECAN), Historians of Education Development Society of Nigeria (HOEDSON) etc.

Dr. Babatunde Osiyale, Member

Dr. Babatunde Olabiyi Osiyale is an Associate Professor in the Department of History and Diplomatic Studies, Tai Solarin University of Education.He was born on the 19th of April, 1963 in Ibadan to the family of Pa and Madam Johnson Folawole Osiyale.
After his primary education at St. Andrew’s Demonstration Primary School, Oyo, he attended the following schools for his secondary education: St. Anthony Grammar School, Esure, Ijebu-Imusin from Sept. 1974 to July 1976, and Luba Comprehensive School, Ijebu-Ode from Sept. 1976 to June 1979.
He worked briefly at the Finance Section of the Ministry of Works and Transport from 1978-1981. Between 1981-1983, he was at Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta (now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic) for his Advanced Level.
In 1983, he gained admission to University of Ibadan to read Archaeology/History between 1983 to July 1986. He did his N.Y.S.C. in Benue State at Community Secondary School. Ojoku via Amkpa (now part of Kogi State). He proceeded to University of Lagos for his M.A. (History) between 1988-1989. He obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye between 1995-1996, and a Ph.D History from the prestigious University of Ibadan in 2018.
As regard his work experience, he started work on the 18th of June, 1990 at Ogun State College of Education as a Lecturer III and rose through the ranks to the position of a Principal Lecturer, and when Tai Solarin College of Education was transformed to a University in 2005, he was right placed to a Senior Lecturer position. In Oct. 2018, he was promoted to the rank of an Associate Professor. His area of specialization/Research Interests are Economic, Social, Political and Nigerian History.
He is a member of Professional Associations such as Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN) and Nigerian Institute of Management.
He has published in both local and international journals. Also, he has also attended conferences both within and outside Nigeria where papers were presented.
Further, he has co-edited some books like Themes in Nigeria as a Nation, (co-edited with Prof. R.O. Ajetunmobi); Haruna Isola: The Life and Times of Baba-Ngani Agba, (co-edited with Prof. R.O. Ajetunmobi and Dele Sogbesan), and The Enigma of Foundations for University of Education Administration in Nigeria: The Legacy of Kayode Oyesiku (co-edited with Ajetunmobi R.O. and Yonlonfoun, V.E.).
He has served as External Assessor of History in some Colleges of Education such as Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Otto-Ijanikin, Lagos and Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo, Oyo State.
He is a member of the following Societies: Young Men’s Christian Association, St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Ijebu-Imusin; Unique Club, Okun-Owa; Secretary, Old Students Association, Luba Comprehensive School, Ijebu-Ode 74/79 Set.
In the University, he is a member of several committees which include, but not limited to the followings:

Prof. A. O. Oyenuga, Member

Prof. Anthony Oyetunde Oyenuga is a Professor of Industrial Technical Education and was born in the very early of 60s at Ibadan to the family of Pa Vincent O. and Late Mama Ruth O. Oyenuga.
He attended St Williams Primary School, Oke-Ado, Ibadan between 1969 and 1974 and Eyinni High School, Orita Challenge Ibadan, between 1975 and 1980.
He worked at Ogun State Government Press (now Ogun State Printing Corporation) at Abeokuta between 1980 and 1981. In 1981 he was admitted for Ordinary National Diploma (OND) programme in Mechanical Engineering at The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro and obtained OND Certificate in Mechanical Engineering in 1983.
In September 1983, he was employed as a Physics and Mathematics Teacher by the Government of Ogun State and was posted to United High School, Osunbudepo in Ijebu North Local Government of Ijebu Igbo.
In 1984, he resigned from the government service and went for his Higher National Diploma (HND) programme at The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro and obtained HND Certificate in Mechanical Engineering in 1986 and was posted to Benue State between 1986 and 1987 for the National Youth Service Corps.
In 1988, he was employed as a Technical Teacher by the Government of Ogun State and was posted to Ansar-Ud-Deen High School, Oniworo Quarters, Ijebu-Ode where he spent 5years as a technical teacher.
In 1993, he was employed by the Management of Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), Ijagun, Ogun State, as a Senior Instructor in the Department of Technical Education (Automobile Option) and rose to the rank of Assistant Chief Instructor. In the same institution, he was the Vice Chairman of the College of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) between 2000 and 2002.

Prof. Anthony Oyetunde Oyenuga attended Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye where he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and Master of Science Degree in Transport Studies in 1997 and 1998 respectively.
He also Attended University of Benin, Benin City in Edo State between 2000 and 2003 as a part time students and obtained a Master Degree in Technical Education.
In 2005 after his Master Degree, he was converted from Assistant Chief Instructorship to a Lecturership Cadre as a Senior Lecturer and was made the Head of Department of Technical Education.
In the same year, when Tai Solarin College of Education was upgraded to a University of Education, he was right placed to the position of a Senior Lecturer and was appointed as the Chairman of Transport Committee of the University. A position he held for five years.
Prof. Anthony Oyetunde Oyenuga also obtained a Diploma in Computer Science in the year 2007 at Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ogun State with Distinction.
In December 2010, he bagged a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Degree in Industrial Technical Education at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
In March 2011, he became the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) Chairman, TASUED and promised to serve a single term of two years. In May 2013, he kept to his promise and relinquished power credibly.
Between 2011 and 2014, he was the Ag. Head of Department of Vocational and Technical Education, TASUED and as well served in various committees meritoriously.
In 2014, Prof. Anthony Oyetunde Oyenuga obtained a Bachelor Degree in Technical Education at Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti.
Between 2014 and 2016, he was an Associate Editor of the Vocational and Applied Science (VAS) Journal. In the same year precisely October 1, 2014, he was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor of Technical Education.
In December 2016, he was voted for, to represent TASUED Congregation at the University Governing Council between March 2017 and July, 2018.
Prof. Anthony Oyetunde Oyenuga through the Grace and Mercy of God rose to the rank of a Professor in October 1, 2017.
In September 2020, He was appointed as the Head of Industrial Technical Education Department, TASUED.
Prof. Anthony Oyetunde Oyenuga is a scholar of repute. He belongs to reputable learned societies (both national and international) and also a registered member of Teachers Registration Council.
He has more than 50 publications both national and international to his credit.

He is an External Assessor to some Colleges of Education and Universities in Nigeria. He is also an External Examiner to University of Namibia, Benin Republic Campus.
Prof. Anthony Oyetunde Oyenuga is the 1st Prof of Industrial Technical Education in Ijebu Land.
Prof. Anthony Oyetunde Oyenuga is the 1st Prof of Industrial Technical Education in Ogun State.
Prof. Anthony Oyetunde Oyenuga is the 3rd Prof of Industrial Technical Education in the whole South-Western Nigeria.
He is of strong moral rectitude, a disciplinarian to the core and a Pastor in Praise Chapel Living Church, Ijebu Ode.
His hobbies are football, basketball, table tennis, badminton and any other indoor games.
Above all, he is happily married to a beautiful woman and a virtuous wife, Mrs Abiola Ruth Oyenuga and Blessed with Glorious Children.

Mr.A.A. Oyekanmi, (Alumni Representative), Member

Position: National President, the Alumni Association, Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State.
Abdullahi Abiodun Oyekanmi is a Ph.D Student in the Department of Political Science, Tai Solarin University of Education where he s currently an Assistant Lecturer ( Part-time). Oyekanmi had his M.Sc., Political Science from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago- Iwoye, B.Sc (ed.) in Political Science from Tai Solarin University of Education and he bagged his Nigerian Certificate in Education from Ansar-deen College of Education (Political Science/Islamic Studies)Lagos State, Nigeria.
He is a franchise partner and administrative officer, Ogun State Mobile Adverts (OGSAA) from 2020-2022. He had also variously taught Government and Literature as subjects at different reputable Secondary Schools in Lagos State and Ogun State respectively, including Tai Solarin Secondary Staff School, Igbega, Ijebu-Ode. Oyekanmi was an Assistant Examiner of West African Examination Council from 2013 to 2018 when he became an Examiner from till date.
Abdullahi Abiodun Oyekanmi was elected TASUED Student’s Union President in 2011, National Secretary of the Alumni Association, Tasued from 2013- 2017 and was elected National President of the Alumni Association, TASUED in 2017, the position he holds currently. He was a member of TASUED University Governing Council from 2017- 2018 and later from April 2019 till May of the same year.
He has 17 academic publications in journal and books both national and international, including chapters in books.He is a member of many reputable associations such as Nigerian Political Science Association, Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Association of Mobile Adverts Vendors in Ogun State and a host of others.
Oyekanmi is a youth enthusiast, a courageous advocate of young generational leadership, an avid reader, a regular public affairs analyst on popular Tv and radio stations, 96.3 Super FM inclusive. He is happily married with a beautiful daughter.

Mr. Dapo Oke FCIA MANUPA Ag. Registrar, Secretary to Council and Senate

Mr. Oladapo Sunday Oke is the current Acting Registrar of the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State.

Mr. Oke joined the services of the then Tai Solarin College of Education in 1996 as an Administrative Officer before the transformation of the then College of Education to University of Education.

Mr. Dapo Oke has served in various divisions and units in the University and until his appointment as the Acting Registrar, he was the Deputy Registrar, Media & Corporate Relations, a division under the Vice Chancellor’s Office.

He attended the then Ogun State College of Education, Ijebu Ode for his National Certificate in Education, (NCE). He is also a graduate of History (Education) and Master Degree holder in Educational Administration from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Mr. Dapo Oke rose to become the Senior Assistant Registrar in 2005 when the Tai Solarin College of Education transformed into Tai Solarin University of Education.

His professional career cuts across many Departments and Units of the University namely, Students’ Registration and Statistics Units of Academic Affairs Division; Students Affairs Division; NCE Records; Exams and Records Department; Senior Programme Officer, Centre for Human Rights and Gender Education.

Between 2007 and 2011 he was appointed as Senior Legislative Aide to Senator, Kola Bajomo, who represented Ogun West in the National Assembly. He was also at the University of Lagos between May 2014 and April 2015 for his Sabbatical where he worked as a Visiting Senior Assistant Registrar, Administrative and Technical Staff Unit of the Human Resources Management Department.

He holds an Advanced Certificate in Data Analysis and Management of the University of Lagos and is also a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration; Member, British Project Professionals; Member, Association of Nigeria Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA)and Member, Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria(CILGPAN).

Mr. Dapo Oke is a 21st Century Professional Educational Administrator.

Senate is the highest organ of the university established by  section 19 of the university law. It is responsible for adminstration of Academic programmes and policies of the university. It’s main activities also includes regulation of students’ activities on the campus, management of Faculties, Centers, approval of students’ academic records and calender.

The University has five(5) colleges and Post Graduate College. Each College is governed by college board which broadly controls the academic programmes of the colleges subject to senate approval.
