VC COMMISSIONS COSPED ADVISORY BOARDROOM

The Vice Chancellor, Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Prof. Oluwole Banjo, FWISON, FASN, FAIMP, dfisn, has officially commissioned the newly completed Advisory Boardroom of the College of Specialized and Professional Education (COSPED).

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Prof. Banjo commended the Dean of the College, Prof. Modupe Hassan, for initiating and executing the laudable project.

He noted that the new Boardroom would provide a conducive environment for strategic meetings and enhance the administrative efficiency of the College. The Vice Chancellor also appreciated Dr. Raheem Akindele and his team for their commitment to bridging the gap between academia and the larger society, stating that global best practices emphasise the role of partnerships with corporate organisations and philanthropists in the growth of Universities.

In her remarks, Prof. Modupe Hassan expressed profound gratitude to the University Management under the leadership of Prof. Banjo for the continued support and collaborative spirit that facilitated the success of the project.

She lauded Dr. Akindele, Chairman of the COSPED Advisory Board and founder of Victory Hospital, Ijebu Igbo, for his unwavering dedication, describing him as a resilient and generous leader whose contributions were pivotal to the project’s completion.

Prof. Hassan also acknowledged the steadfast support of former Ogun State Deputy Governor, Senator Adegbenga Kaka.

Dr. Raheem Akindele, in his response, thanked fellow Board members, Heads of Departments, and stakeholders for their financial, physical, and spiritual contributions to the successful execution of the Boardroom.

Speaking at the event, the President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), TASUED Chapter, Dr. Adewale Ositoye, described Prof. Hassan as a determined and visionary leader who has set a high standard for future Deans urging her successor to sustain and build upon the legacy she had established.

The Boardroom was formally commissioned by the Vice Chancellor in the presence of top University officials, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adekunle Adeogun; the Bursar, Mr. Kabir Ogunneye, FCA; the University Librarian, Prof. Adebambo Oduwole; member of the Governing Council, Prof. Bayo Akinsanya; former Dean and Director, Directorate of Research and External Relations, Prof. Samuel Oladipo; the immediate past College Officer, Mr. Sikirullah Shuaib; the current College Officer, Mrs. Olabisi Sogbesan; as well as several Heads of Departments and other distinguished guests.
