TASUED MANAGEMENT BIDS ABIMBOLA FAREWELL

...as ASUU organises commendation service....

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwole Banjo and the University Management, staff, and students gathered to honor the life and legacy of Late. Mrs. Adebimpe Abimbola, a teaching staff member in the Department of Home Economics and Hotel Management.

Speaking at the service, the Vice-Chancellor, described her passing as a great loss to the Institution. He praised her dedication to the University, particularly in the field of Hotel Management, where she was considered an invaluable asset.

“Though Mrs. Abimbola is gone, we are comforted knowing she has gone to rest. After all, all living souls shall taste death,” Prof. Banjo remarked while consoling the bereaved family and University Staff.

The Dean of the College of Vocational and Technical Education, Prof. Anthony Oyenuga, while making his remarks at the event, described her as a brilliant and peace-loving individual whose impact will not be forgotten. He assured her family and colleagues that her memory would continue to live on through the lives she touched.

The commendation service, organised by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), was attended by the University’s Management Team, Colleagues, Students, family members, and friends.

The event was as a solemn moment of reflection on Mrs. Abimbola’s contributions to the University Community.

Mrs. Abimbola, known for her kindness and academic excellence passed on to glory earlier in February, 2025 and is survived by her husband, Mr. Ebenezer Abimbola, and their children.
