TASFUED JOINS THE WORLD IN CELEBRATING WORLD PR DAY 2026

The Media and Public Relations Unit of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED) has joined communication professionals worldwide in commemorating the 2026 World Public Relations Day.

Reaffirming the University’s commitment to strategic communication, institutional visibility and stakeholder engagement in line with this year’s theme, “The Golden Age of Strategic Public Relations.”
The annual celebration, observed every July 16, highlights the pivotal role of Public Relations in building trust, strengthening institutional reputation and fostering meaningful relationships between organisations and their stakeholders.

The 2026 theme reflects the growing recognition of strategic Public Relations as a critical management function that supports leadership, drives innovation and promotes sustainable development.

For TASFUED, this year’s celebration resonates with the vision of the University’s newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oladipo, MNPA, CMCPN, MCAN, FIELPN, whose mission places strong emphasis on enhancing the University’s media presence and strengthening its visibility across local and international platforms. The Vice Chancellor is widely regarded as a media-friendly administrator. Prof. Oladipo has identified strategic communication as a key driver for projecting the University’s achievements, expanding stakeholder engagement and positioning TASFUED as a globally competitive institution.

The University notes that Public Relations has evolved beyond information dissemination to become a strategic partner in institutional growth.

Through effective media relations, digital communication, reputation management and stakeholder engagement, the Public Relations Unit continues to showcase the University’s academic excellence, research breakthroughs, community impact and other landmark achievements.

As communication continues to evolve with the rapid advancement of digital technology and artificial intelligence, TASFUED reaffirmed its commitment to embracing innovative communication strategies while upholding the principles of professionalism, transparency, accountability and ethical practice.

The University believes that although technology has transformed the communication landscape, trust, credibility and authentic storytelling remain the defining qualities of effective Public Relations.

The commemoration also underscores the University’s resolve to leverage strategic communication in advancing its mandate as Nigeria’s Premier University of Education.
