TASFUED ESTABLISHES DIRECTORATE OF ADVANCEMENT TO STRENGTHEN INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing institutional growth and aligning with global best practices in higher education administration, the Management of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, has approved the establishment of the Directorate of Advancement.

The creation of the Directorate underscores the University’s commitment to building sustainable institutional capacity through strategic resource mobilisation, alumni engagement, endowment development, donor relations, partnerships, and other advancement initiatives that will further strengthen TASFUED’s national and international profile.

To effectively drive its mandate, the Directorate shall comprise three specialised units: the Foundation Unit, the Endowment Unit, and the Alumni Unit. These units will serve as strategic platforms for mobilising financial support, cultivating philanthropic relationships, strengthening alumni engagement, fostering institutional partnerships, and promoting sustainable development initiatives for the University.

Following the establishment of the Directorate, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Oladipo, MNPA, CMCPN, MCAN, FIELPN, has approved the appointment of Prof. Kemi Oriola as the inaugural Director of the Directorate, while Mr Abayomi Obasan has been appointed as its Secretary.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the establishment of the Directorate is in line with his administration’s vision of positioning the University for greater relevance, competitiveness, and sustainability through innovative institutional advancement strategies.

While congratulating the appointees, Prof. Oladipo expressed confidence in their competence, dedication, and wealth of experience to provide the leadership required to actualise the Directorate’s mandate.

He charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by working diligently to attract development opportunities, strengthen the University’s Foundation, expand its Endowment, deepen alumni relations, and foster strategic partnerships that will contribute significantly to the continued growth and development of TASFUED.
