TASFUED COMMISSIONS MINIBUSES FOR INTRA-CAMPUS SHUTTLE

In a move to ease transportation challenges on campus, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adekunle Adeogun, FISN, has commissioned five new Toyota minibuses. The vehicles were donated by the distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, CON, FCA representing the Ogun West Senatorial District.

Professor Adeogun commended the Senator for the donation, assuring that the buses would be put to immediate and effective use.

“We are deeply grateful to Senator Adeola for this generous gesture, which meets a critical need of our University Community,” stated Professor Adeogun.

“We appeal to other well-meaning individuals in society to partner with the government in investing in Education, not only in infrastructure but in elevating our campuses to global standards.”

The Acting Vice-Chancellor highlighted that the Senator’s decision to spread such donations across multiple higher institutions in the state, rather than focusing solely on his district, was a “noble and unprecedented act in the history of representation in Ogun State and Nigeria.”

The Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr Dapo Oke, MANUPA, FCIA, was also acknowledged for his role in facilitating the donation.

In his remarks, Mr Oke praised the University’s Students’ Affairs Division for its diligence in customising the buses. “Of all the recipient institutions, TASFUED is the only one that has already refurbished and rebranded the vehicles. We are confident this will encourage the donor to consider the University for future support.”

The Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr Olagunju Balogun, presented the buses to the Acting Vice-Chancellor and conveyed the appreciation of the Students’ Union Government, led by Comrade Ogunfowora Oluwasinayomi and the entire student body.

The event also served to recall the Senator’s previous donation of 50 solar-powered street lights to illuminate the campus at night.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by members of the University’s Management team, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Rotimi Ettu; the Bursar, Mr Kabir Ogunneye, FCA; the University Librarian, Professor Adebambo Oduwole among others.
