The University Christian Community recently organised a prayer session seeking for God’s blessings and protection for staff and students for a successful academic session.
The event was held at the Chapel of His Glory at the main campus, Ijagun to key start the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
Delivering the sermon during the prayer meeting to usher in the new academic session, Pastor Isaac Oyetayo, Provincial Pastor in charge of Ogun Province 28, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) spoke on the theme, “Thy Kingdom Come,” emphasising the importance of aligning every aspect of life with the will of God, particularly among students navigating the demands of academic and personal development.
Drawing his message from Matthew chapter 6 verses 10, the preacher explained that allowing God’s will to prevail brings transformation and divine provision, noting that righteousness, peace and joy are among the benefits enjoyed by those who place His will first.
“When the will of God is done, transformation and divine provision are evident,” he added.
Pastor Oyetayo also stressed that peace, as a hallmark of God’s Kingdom, leaves no room for darkness to thrive. He underscored the relevance of this principle to Educational institutions and society at large, particularly in addressing the challenges confronting Schools and Communities today.
The prayer meeting, which has become an annual spiritual gathering, aim at ushering students into each new academic session, committing them, alongside the entire University Community, into God’s hands for guidance, protection and success throughout the academic year.
The gathering featured fervent prayers for Nigeria, Ogun State, the TASFUED Community and the University Management, with ministers from the Institution’s Christian Community, staff and students in attendance.
Through the initiative, the Christian Community seeks to establish prayer as a vital foundation for the new academic session, fostering spiritual growth and encouraging members of the University Community to uphold Godly values in their academic, professional and personal lives.
The gathering had in attendance the men of God from different denominations cutting across various denominations.
