Press Release: “Commencement of 2023/2024 Academic Session, SIWES, Teaching Practice, and Approved Academic Calendar and School Fees”

The University Senate, at its 142nd regular meeting, has approved the commencement of the 2023/2024 Academic Session on Monday, 13th November 2023.

It should be noted that SIWES for 300Level Students and Teaching Practice for 400-level students have kicked off on Monday, 13th November, 2023, as approved.

Parents, guardians, students, and the general public are hereby informed and are to please take note of the approved academic calendar and school fees for 2023/2024 academic session as follows;

Academic Calendar

13th November, 2023

SIWES commences for 300-level students
- Academic session begins for 2023/2024
- Teaching Practice begins for 400 Level
- Resumption/Registration for 200L - 300 Level students

  • 15th November, 2023: Orientation for Teaching Practice Exercise for 400 Level students (virtual)

SECOND SEMESTER SCHEDULE:

  • 25th March, 2024: The second Semester begins for 100L – 400 Level students with lectures
  • 27th March, 2024: Statutory Senate Meeting
  • 24th April, 2024: Statutory Meetings
  • 13th – 17th May, 2024: Continuous Assessment (CBT for general courses)
  • 31st May, 2024: Lectures end for 100L – 400L Students
  • 29th May, 2024: Statutory Senate Meeting
  • 3rd – 7th June, 2024: Revision Weeks for 100 L – 400L Students
  • 10th June, 2024: Second Semester Examinations begin for 100L – 400Levels Students
  • 26th June, 2024: Statutory Senate Meeting
  • 5th July, 2024: End of 2023/2024 Academic Session
  • 31st July, 2024: Statutory Senate Meeting
  • 28th August, 2024: Statutory Senate Meeting

2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION:

  • 2nd September, 2024: The 2024/2025 Academic Session begins
  • 25th September, 2024: Statutory Senate Meeting
