Counselling Psychology and Educational Foundations
Jimoh Wale is an Associate Professor of Psychometrics and Counselling Psychology in the Department of Counselling Psychology and Educational Foundations, Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun. He is also the Deputy Director of the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance. He is an expert in data analysis using SPSS as well as in the provision of professional psychological counselling services. He holds a PhD in Applied Psychology, in addition to M.Ed. Guidance and Counselling, BA Ed. Guidance and Counselling and Islamic Studies and other academic and professional qualifications. He is an experienced educator whose teaching experiences span through all the strata of the Nigerian educational system – primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. He has served the University in several capacities. He was a Departmental Examination Officer, Chairman University Timetable and Calendar Committee, Member University Research Committee and many others. He is a versatile and renown resource person to many educational and research institutions, examination bodies, youth organisations and community associations. He is a recipient of the 2017 tetfund IBR research grant for a study investigating psycho–social predictors of suicide ideation among Nigerian undergraduates. He is also a co-researcher in a 2019 tetfund NRF research grant for the development and validation of a psycho-educational counselling intervention program for managing Post Traumatic Stress Disorders among child sexual abuse survivors. He is also a co-winner of two other tefund IBR research grants in 2017. He has also won several research travel grants to attend academic conferences. He has published several research papers in reputable national and international academic journals and books. He has also presented research papers at several academic conferences across Nigeria and many other countries of the world including Ghana, Ethiopia, South Africa, United States of America, Germany, United Arab Emirates and Holland. He belongs to many professional associations including the Counselling Association of Nigeria, National Association of Educational Evaluators and Researchers among others. He is married and blessed with children.
