NIGERIAN ARMY SCHOOL SEEKS FURTHER PARTNERSHIP WITH TASUED

The Commandant, Command Day Secondary School (CDSS), Ijebu Ode, Major P. Agbai has sought for continous collaboration with the University, with commendation to the Management of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, for making the Institution stand tall among comity of tertiary institutions in the country. He stated this during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the University. Major Agbai disclosed that the visit to TASUED was like home coming for him, having done his Postgraduate Degree in the insƟtuƟon and currently embarking on his Ph.D here as well. “If you are talking about Universities in the country and you have not menƟon TASUED, I won’t listen to you”, he added. The Commandant further noted that they were in the University to strengthen the collaboration between the two insƟtuƟons, saying that they have introduced vocational skill to their curriculum having taken a close watch to the success story of TASUED, most especially, in the area of Vocational and Entrepreneural education. The Commandant, therefore, requested that the University Management should not overlook their school as beneficiary of teaching practice students from the University. In his remarks, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wole Banjo thanked Major Agbai and his entourage for the visit with an assurance that the institution would always be ready to form a synergy when it comes to pedagogy of education in order to meet the global best practices. The Vice Chancellor further added that he was pleased with Command Day Secondary School for the introduction of vocational skills into their curriculum at the earliest stage, adding that, this will propel students to make use of the skills later in life, thereby, becoming employers of labour rather than looking for the elusive white collar job after graduation. On the entourage of the Commandant were the Administrative Officer, Lt. J. Osuji; the Vice Principal (Academics), Mr. Mohammed and the Head of Department (Vocational Studies), Mr. Akinsile and a host of others.
