In a commendable act of Educational support, the Alfred Oreniyi Foundation (AOF) has awarded scholarships to three indigent students of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, who were at risk of losing their admission due to inability to pay their tuition fees.
Representatives of the foundation visited the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. Oladapo Oke, FCIA, fsin to officially present cheques to the beneficiaries.
Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, Mr. Meshach Ogagaoghene explained that the organisation is committed to supporting vulnerable students by providing them with the resources needed to pursue their education and reach their full potential. He disclosed that the students had reached out to the foundation for help, and after a thorough verification process, it was confirmed that they were genuinely in need of assistance.
In his remarks, Mr. Oke expressed appreciation to the Alfred Oreniyi Foundation for the timely intervention, describing it as a life-changing gesture that would keep the dreams of the affected students alive.
“This is a major rescue effort for these young individuals who might have missed their chance at education. We are grateful for this generous support,” he said.
He also encouraged the beneficiaries to dedicate themselves to their studies and graduate with good grades to justify the investment in their future and pave the way for similar support to be extended to other deserving students. Mr. Oke further assured the foundation that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwole Banjo, FWISON, FASN, FAIMP, dfisn, would be duly informed of their benevolence.
The beneficiaries of the scholarship are Miss Adesanya Kehinde Elizabeth, a 100-level student in the Department of Accounting (Accounting Education); Mr. Adesanya Taiwo Gabriel, a 100-level student in the Department of Biological Sciences (Biology Education); and Miss Ogunsanya Boluwatife Rachel from the Department of English Studies (English Education).
On the entourage of the Foundation were Miss Mofoyinfoluwa Adeyile, Mr Sunday Odeyemi, Mrs Mobolaji Dada and Mr. Ayobami Luke Ayodedele.
Present at the event were the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Olagunju Balogun; Students’ Affairs Officer, Mr. Niyi Olaitan; and Mrs. Kike Adelekan.
