In its bid to continually reposition the TASUED Microfinance Bank and for it to compete favorably with similar Banks in terms of Information Technology and Physical Infrastructure, the University Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwole Banjo, FWISON, FASN recently unveiled the new TASUED Microfinance Bank building.
The ceremony which took place recently at the University main Campus, Ijagun, Ogun State was witnessed by members of the Bank’s Board of Directors, members of the University Community, and some of its Customers.
In his welcome address, the University Acting Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors, Prof. Oluwole Banjo, FWISON, FASN congratulated TASUED for being the sole owner of the Bank.
He noted that the expansion of the Bank, especially when it transformed into a Microfinance bank necessitated the need for a new bigger office and a more conducive business environment.
While noting that TASUED MFB is one of the leading Microfinance Banks in Ijebu-ode and its environs, Prof. Banjo disclosed that the Bank had keyed into the use of ICT for its operations.
“The good news is that in the next one or two months, the Bank would begin to do transactions online like other Banks of its status. We have concluded arrangements with our vendor who will solidify arrangements with our linked Bank”, he disclosed.
“Apart from the online Banking, Services like Point of Sales (POS), would also be provided at designated locations within the Campus at a regularised interest. The Bank would soon erect its Automated Teller Machine (ATM) to dispense cashing orders to reduce the influx of customers into the Banking hall”, he further added.
In his valedictory speech, the outgoing Managing Director, Mr. Steven Gbogiaran FCA, thanked the Chairman, and Board of Directors for the opportunity given him to have served the Bank in the last decade. He sought the extension of such hands of fellowship to the new MD.
The new Managing Director, Mr. Kabiru Ogunneye ACA, while delivering his speech at the unveiling ceremony, promised that the Bank would witness tremendous positive changes during his tenure as the Bank’s MD.
He urged the Board to continue to support the Bank while encouraging existing and potential customers not to relent in their support and patronage of the Bank.
Present at the event were The Acting Registrar, Mr. Dapo Oke; the Acting Bursar, Mr. Bunmi Abdullahi; the University Librarian, Mrs. Sola Oyesiku; TMFB Board of Directors, and University contractors among others.
