Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has approved the appointment of TASUED Technology and Incubation Hub (TTI-HUB) as a revenue consultant for all tertiary institutions in the state.
This was made known in a statement by the Business Manager of the Hub, Mr. Ogunnowo Taiwo at the weekend.
Mr. Ogunnowo said the Tech Hub is to boost the technology drive of the University and encourage entrepreneurial development among faculty and students of the University.
He said the TTI-Hub is a Tech business venture fully owned by TASUED to welcome ideas from faculty and students of the institution which will create homegrown tech solutions, scale, and commercialize it for profit.
According to him, the TTI-Hub is a revenue consultant to drive the Tertiary Institution Centralized Revenue Management System Policy (TICRMS) via the Technology-Assisted Academy Management System (EDUTAMS).
He maintained that, the consultancy service which is in collaboration with the State Ministries of Education, Finance and Ogun Tech Hub is another milestone achievement of the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wole Banjo.
He added that, the consultancy service will also help drive centralized revenue of tertiary institutions in the state based on one of the solutions grown at TTI-HUB.
He also noted that, a percentage profit is returned and shared between University through TTI-HUB for incubation and the owner of the idea.
“TASUED owns the TASUED Technology and Incubation Hub (TTI-HUB). It is a Tech business venture fully owned by the University. TTI-HUB welcomes ideas from faculty and students of the institution and create home grown tech solutions, scale, and commercialize for profit.
“With this feat, TASUED becomes the first tertiary institution in Nigeria to render a technology driven consultancy service to any state government especially in the area of revenue management. This consultancy service is in collaboration with the Ogun State Ministry of Education, Ogun State Ministry of Finance, and Ogun TechHub. It is a welcome development and a testimonial to the technology drive of the University.
“A percentage profit is returned and shared between University through TTI-HUB for incubation and the owner of idea(s)/solution, but the idea is to boost the technology drive of the University and to encourage entrepreneurial development among faculty and students.”
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of TTI-Hub, Mr. Kunle Odusanya commended Governor Abiodun for his vision and monumental master plan for the state tertiary institutions.
Mr. Odusanya said the stride would help all government-owned higher institutions in the state to diversify ideas and become financially strong.
