TASFUED Ag. VC FELICITATES CHRISTIANS AT 2025 CHRISTMAS CAROL AND SERVICE OF NINE LESSONS WITH REFLECTIONS ON MILESTONES

The Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED) recently hosted its 2025 Christmas Carol and Service of Nine Lessons, a solemn yet celebratory gathering that blended worship, music and institutional reflection, under the theme “Jesus, the Prince of Peace”.

In his remarks, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adekunle Adeogun FISN, reflected on what he described as a landmark year for the institution, highlighting key achievements recorded in 2025.

While expressing his gratitude to God for an eventful year, Prof Adeogun highlighted some of the key achievements of the University.
Among them were the celebration of the University’s 20th anniversary since its founding in 2005 and the adoption of the institution by the Federal Government on March 3rd, a development he said positioned TASFUED for greater growth and national relevance.

Prof. Adeogun also cited the creation of new Colleges and additional academic programmes, several strategic collaborations, the standardisation of security measures, and the establishment of the Independent Power Plant (IPP) project, which is already functional and now provides 24-hour uninterrupted power supply to the main campus.

The Ag. Vice-Chancellor further noted that the year marked the successful completion of the tenure of the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwole Banjo, whose tenure ended on 3rd November 2025.

He described the period as one of the brightest moments of his own stewardship in office.

Addressing the University Community on the academic calendar vis-a-vis the Convocation Ceremony, is scheduled to taken place on 29th January, 2026.

He felicitated with staff and students on the festive season, urging them to embrace the spirit of love, compassion and generosity, particularly towards the less privileged.

Delivering the sermon of the day, The Rt. Rev. Dr. Solomon Abayomi Adegbite, of the Methodist Diocese of Ijebu, admonished the congregation not to lose sight of the spiritual essence of Christmas amid the celebrations.

He reminded the audience that “Jesus, the Prince of Peace, remains the reason for the season.”
Quoting Isaiah 9:1–7, the cleric explained that the fall of man, begins with the first Adam in the book of Genesis, created a separation between God and humanity, bringing destruction and loss of grace.

He noted that God, in His mercy, provided redemption through Jesus Christ, restoring hope and peace to humanity.

Rt. Rev. Adegbite further urged the University Community to remain steadfast in their faith, stressing that “humanity is truly fulfilled when we are in right relationship with God.”

The event, held at the TETFund 2012 Hall, drew members of the University Management team, the entire university community, clergy, students and dignitaries.

The celebration was enlivened by soul-stirring performances from the TASFUED Choir and students of the Tai Solarin Federal University of Education Staff Secondary School, Igbeba (TASFUESS).
