NEWS UPDATE - TASUED ORGANISES ORIENTATION EXERCISE FOR NEW STUDENTS ...Holds 2016/2017 Matriculation Ceremony
While declaring the programme open, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluyemisi Obilade advised the new students to desist from vices inimical to their stay on campus, with a challenge to follow the rules and regulations of the University.
The Vice Chancellor, who was represented by the Dean of the College of Vocational and Technology Education (COVTED), Prof. Kayode Ijaduola urged the new students to justify their admission into the University so that they can graduate at the appropriate time.
Series of topics were discussed at the orientation programme which include: Administrative Structure of the University delivered by the duo of Mrs. A.O Adeleye and Mr. Ademola Adesanya; Security and Safety Matters (Mrs. Lamina Ogede and Mr. Ola Azeez- University's CSO); Counselling Services: Dress Code and Student Attitudes to Studies (Prof. E.M.Hassan and Dr. Tolu Ogunleye); Know Your Rights and Responsibilities (Dr. A.M Ewumi and Mr. Dapo Oke); You are Your Health (Dr. Olufemi Oso and Dr. A.Akinbajo; On-line Payment, Registration and CBT Exams (Mr. Ademola Adenubi and Mr.Ayodeji Oyenuga); Vocational Skills and Entrepreneurial Studies at TASUED-CENVOS (Dr. Omolade Akinsanya and Mr. C.O.Orjinta); Examination Ethics (Professors Oluwatimilehin and Lanre Ipinmoroti); Student Matters (Dr. Akorede Odumade and Mr. Niyi Adesanya) and University Library Services (Mrs. C.O Amalahu and Mr .M.O. Quadri).
The Acting Registrar, Mr. F.O.Odutuga, therefore, called on the new students to be of good behaviour with a view to projecting the good image of the Institution.
In a related development, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Oluyemisi Obilade has reiterated the University's zero tolerance for anti-social vices, as any students found wanting will be made to face full wrath of the law.
The Vice Chancellor stated this recently at the Matriculation Ceremony for the 2016/2017 academic session for new students of the University.
Prof. Obilade further noted that the University stood out among comity of universities in the country because of its uniqueness as the premier and preferred University of Education "we are the flagship in terms of education; we are numbered one and one of our core areas of uniqueness is the dual certificates we issue to our graduates which makes them self-sufficient. In addition to this, our students finish their courses at the end of the fourth year without elongation whatsoever. We graduate our students as when due. So, in four year's time, you and your parents will be here to celebrate your graduation", she said.
The Vice Chancellor, however, advised the new students to be of good conduct and as well maintain their passion and dreams for quality education. "You need discipline to excel, hence, work towards your dreams and make judicious use of your studentship here because anywhere discussions on teaching and learning take centre stage, TASUED is what they talk about. So, don't lose focus and be a worthy ambassador of this University wherever you go", she added.The pledge of obedience was, thereafter, conducted by the Acting Registrar of the University, Mr. F.O.Odutuga.
