NEWS UPDATE - TASUED TEACHING PRACTICE BOARD ORGANISES WORKSHOP FOR SUPERVISORS ...As VC urges them to be more committed
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has reiterated the University's committment towards attaining excellence in all its academic programmes.
He stated this at a workshop recently organised for supervisors by the University's Teaching Practice Board for the 2018/2019 teaching practice exercise.
The Vice Chancellor urged participants to be thorough and proactive in the discharge of their duties during the exercise.
Prof. Arigbabu further implored supervisors to avoid stress, victimization and intimidation that may come their way with a plea to promote fairness and excellence.
"The essence of this presentation is to ensure that participants are fully prepared for the process and procedures for effective teaching practice supervision", he noted.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wole Banjo in his remarks noted that teaching practice offers students the opportunity to demonstrate their level of understanding of the content and pedagogy they have been exposed to while in training.
He, thereafter, admonished participants to give the exercise the priority it deserves, noting that it could aid in controlling the quality of teaching.
In attendance at the workshop were the Dean, College of Science and Information Technology (COSIT), Professor Oworu, Dean of Postgraduate School, Professor M A. Ogundipe, Dean of COSPED, Prof. Oladipo, Dean of COSMAS, Prof. Ogundare, Director of CENVOS, Prof. Abiodun Banjo, Director of Centres and Heads of Departments and Units among others.
